Ryan Huff, P.E.

Founder & Principal Engineer

Ryan Huff brings a unique blend of field experience and engineering expertise to every project. His career began early — working in vertical construction alongside his stepfather at just 14 years old. Over the next 15 years, he worked in both residential and commercial construction for a variety of companies and advanced from a laborer to project foreman, eventually running his own finish carpentry business for six years. That hands-on foundation in construction shaped his practical understanding of how design decisions translate to the field.

After earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Central Florida (UCF), Ryan transitioned into engineering, where he has spent the past 12 years serving communities across Florida’s Treasure Coast. His work spans stormwater management, site development, water and wastewater systems, utility infrastructure, and environmental permitting.

Beyond the technical side of his work, Ryan is deeply involved in the local community. He is a former board member of the Treasure Coast Builders Association (TCBA) and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Stuart/Martin County Chamber of Commerce. Through his civic engagement and volunteer efforts, he remains committed to supporting responsible growth and sustainable development throughout the region.

Ryan founded Tropical Benchmark Engineering to combine the precision of professional engineering with the practicality of real-world construction experience. His approach is built on communication, accountability, and efficient problem-solving — ensuring every project is designed to perform, built to last, and fully aligned with client goals and regulatory standards.
